![]() I've actually made 3 FB albums for the game: Southern Kyrat, Northern Kyrat, and Shangri-La. Though I can't upload my screenshots to Steam, I can upload them as artwork, so it's all good. Go to the settings and DISABLE the Ubisoft overlay feature (it crashes some games with no error). However, I use FRAPS to screen cap, and Shadowplay for recording. After this is complete run the installed client from Steam and login. I have a friend who's still doing it and he told me it'll stop working for him from time to time, but rebooting will fix it, although that hasn't worked for me and I can't figure out why. I know it isn't anything that's been changed in Steam though, because apparently people are still doing it. You can add the FC 4 shortcut to Steam as a non-Steam game via the menu, and then browse to the farcry4.exe, although after adding it, the name of the shortcut needs to be changed to Far Cry 4 (no spaces), and after that, clicking on the shortcut in Steam will launch Uplay and the game, and the Steam overlay will be available.Īt least it was working for me, but not anymore. I have no idea how so many people are uploading screenshots when there's no Steam overlay. Uplay will still be running in the background, but you should be able to ignore it.Originally posted by Goatroach:I have the Steam version of FC4, but it launches via Uplay, and never had the Steam overlay. However, if you're using Big Picture mode, you can press the Guide button on your controller to return to Steam. I can still get the game started through Steam, and I do have the overlay enabled, but it just simply doesn't recognize that I'm playing the game. That was working just fine until suddenly today. It's not perfect, because Uplay won't go away when you exit the game. I have the Uplay version of FC 4, and a couple weeks ago I added the farcry4.exe to Steam as a non-Steam game in order to use the Steam overlay for screenshots. Steam will start Uplay, which will automatically launch the game. You should now be able to launch your Uplay game directly from Steam. You'll need to convert it to PNG format if it's not one already. All of these have the same result: the steam overlay shows normally and works but the game itself completely ignores any inputs from the controller. Its kinda outdated in comparison & the desktop mode isnt that comfortable to play games on anyway, but it certainly is the way to go if you want the old overlay. the picture on the upper right of the Steam store page. Launching the game: steam > uplay > Far Cry 5 -Setting my binds as the desktop configuration to the steam controller and then launching the game through uplay only. Theres also the classical desktop-style overlay available from Steam on the desktop. Anything past this you should be able to figure out, its not rocket surgery. If you’re adding a game from another launcher/store (Epic, Origin, Uplay) with DRM (which most games have, except those from GOG), you’ll need to use one of two programs to coordinate opening the launcher, starting the game, and getting steam to hook into the game process instead of the launcher, then closing the launcher when it’s no. Edit: I just read a review that says even the Steam versions dont support the overlay. exe as a 'non-steam game' and while launching the game works, I cant get the overlay. ![]() Add them to steam through the lutris options. Does anyone know how to get Steam Overlay to work with a version of R6:Siege not purchased through Steam Ive tried adding both the R6. it might be better to install ubisoft games through lutris instead of ubisoft connect, but it will probably vary. If you use Big Picture mode, find a suitable image for the Steam launcher, e.g. log into ubisoft connect (might not be needed) Install whatever games you want. and enter the contents of the URL field surrounded by double quotes, e.g. It should look like uplay://launch/273.īack in the Steam properties dialog, click SET LAUNCH OPTIONS. In the first box, change the name from "Uplay" to the name of the game.įind the shortcut for the game in your Start menu, right click on it, select Properties, the Web Document tab, and copy the URL field. Find it, right click on it, and select Properties. You should now have Uplay in your Steam Library. open your Uplay client first before launching the game. No, I mean it does work but it says im playing the game on steam then a few seconds later just says online after the game actually starts. and find Uplay.exe (I found it in C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Ubisoft Game Launcher.) The Browse method should allow you to add more than one Uplay game to Steam. I want to play the game with steam overlay on but uplay keeps turning off the steam overlay and steam doesnt even recognize me in game when I am. If Uplay appears in the dialog box, select it. In Steam, pick "Add a Non-Steam Game to My Library." from the Games menu. MrLemon pointed me in the right direction, but I was able to improve on the procedure presented there.
